Sadly my mum passed away on Friday 13th February 2009

This page is dedicated to her - for people who knew her - to share their memories and any photos. Maybe it's a selfish idea of mine, but I'd like to know about mum from as many people as knew her.

Mum was born Eileen Audrey Rose, but very few people knew her as Eileen and she hated it when the nurses called her that.

Her family always called her Niny (rhymes with tiny). Joyce her sister, couldn't say Eileen only Nineen which then got shortened to Niny.

People she met later in life couldn't often remember to call her Niny, so she eventually adopted Nina.

In Feb 1956 she married my dad, (after meeting him in the September of the previous year) - Edward (Ted) Patterson Lovell and became Mrs Lovell

Sue Nyirenda (daughter)

Mum about 10 years ago wearing her Pelham's Bowls uniform.

She so much enjoyed playing bowls - she spent most of her time when she lived in Bournemouth playing it - at Pelhams.

Mum and Chris, my brother on Chesil Beach. I think the photo was taken by me one Boxing Day in the 1980's.
Chris died in a motorbike accident in June 2001. Mum was devastated by his death.

Mum always said that her happiest times were when her children were small.

Mum and her dad on a beach at Broadstairs. Summer 1928 - she was 5 years old. When she was six she contracted diptheria and was sent to a convent, again in Broadstairs to recuperate. She only saw her parents and family every other Sunday for a few hours.
